Royal Band

The band represents Roy High School at all Region, State and some National Competitions. Membership is capped at fifty members based on instrumentation. Students in the course have performed across the State of Utah, Idaho,Nevada and California.

Tradition is a key word for this group. The band has earned numerous "Superior" ratings at the Utah State Concert Band Festival and is looking forward to returning to the glory days of old.

Members of the band have had the opportunity to audition for several honor bands. The district honor band has seen approximately thirty to forty percent of its membership come from the Roy High School Royal Band for the past two years.

TOUR 2007 - 2008!!! Southern California here we come!!!! Tour will take us to LA/Anaheim (Disneyland) for clinics and possible concerts in the park. We are applying for the Royal/Jazz and Marching Bands to participate in this activity. We are also planning on attending a Broadway musical - WICKED!! and traveling to San Diego and Seaworld. We are anticipating the cost of the trip to be approximately $560.00 per student. Please note the payment schedule sent home and stay current. We will need all students to participate in order to be at our best. Parents - you are also invited to join us as chaperones!!! The trip will be a department tour (Band, Choir, Drama and Orchestra) so we expect approximately 300 students to be involved. Come and visit the "Happiest Place on Earth:" with us. Travel date: March 7 - 10, 2008.
