Pride of Roy Marching Band
The Pride of Roy Marching Band
The Pride of Roy Marching Band made its field show debut on Saturday, 15 Sep 2007 at the Annual Weber District Marching Band Exhibition. The concept of the show was a hit. We had many of the audience members laughing with us as we took a trip through the world of "Monty Python." As the "Holy Grail" made its appearance, the Knights of the Roundtable danced and Good Sir Robin entertained us all. Thank you Dr. Shannon Roberts for a great arrangement and thank you to Pine View High School in St. George, UT for your willingness to share your ideas and music with us.
A new uniform design will be announced soon. We are in the process of contacting the uniform companies for their bids. We are still looking for more donations and ides on fundraising to reach our goal of $40,000.00 for this purchase. Please contact Mr. Windsor with any ideas.
Roy Days was a great success!!!!! Not only was a lot of money raised, but we were able to "train" everyone on how the concession stand works. Thanks to all who volunteered their time and effort on our behalf.
The Pride will make their home debut on Friday, 21 September 2007 at Homecoming (Go Royals - beat the Wildcats!!!). The Pride will perform one movement from the "Monty Python Suite" for the audience. If you want to see the entire show (and we know you do!!) come and check us out on the 24th of Sep at our Parents Show at RHS. An added note: any alumni who would like to join us to play at the game on the 21st of Sep (or any game for that matter) just contact Mr. Windsor for details.
Weber State Review is scheduled for 25 Sep 2007 at Weber State's Stewart Stadium. See itinerary for details.
A special thanks to the Booster Parents for all they have done for the band. Without each of your help, we could not have accomplished what we have.
The band is proud to represent not only our school, district, State and city, but are most proud to represent ourselves in a positive manner.
